Stone Temple Pilots have hit a rough patch over the past couple of years. The band’s original singer Scott Weiland passed away December 3rd, 2015 and his successor, Chester Bennington committed suicide on July 20th, 2017, leaving the band without a vocalist. The remaining members took their time looking for the right piece of the puzzle. In a statement released by STP, Dean DeLeo said, “We wanted someone who would not only do our earlier songs justice, but would also write new songs and carve out a different path forward with us. It took some time, but we found our guy.” That guy being former “The X Factor” contestant Jeff Gutt. With the announcement of the new frontman, the band has also released it’s first single performed with Gutt, “Meadow”, and has announced an new album out in the spring of 2018.
